WHY DO I NEED TO REPORT "CLASS LIST
DISCREPANCIES"
TO THE REGISTRAR?
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING.
IT IS IMPORTANT YOU UNDERSTAND WHY WE ASK YOU TO REPORT THIS INFORMATION EACH
SEMESTER.
We ask you to report this
information each semester in order to:
(1) Gain information Queens is required to
report to the state and federal governments, and
(2) Assist students who may have registered for the wrong class and/or who have
"forgotten" to add/drop your class.
WHAT DISCREPANCIES NEED TO BE NOTED ON THE FINAL CLASS LIST?
(1) Students who have NEVER
ATTENDED your class but are STILL SHOWING ON YOUR CLASS LIST have not
officially dropped or withdrawn from your class. These students are designated
as “unofficial withdrawals” and Queens is required to report this information
to the DEPT OF EDUCATION. So, it is VERY IMPORTANT you provide this
information to us. WRITE “NEVER ATTENDED” NEXT TO THEIR NAME ON YOUR
CLASS LIST.
(2) Students who HAVE
ATTENDED your class but HAVE STOPPED ATTENDING (ABANDONED) your class have not
officially dropped or withdrawn from your class. These students are designated
as “unofficial withdrawals” and Queens is required to report this information
to the DEPT OF EDUCATION. So, it is VERY IMPORTANT you provide this
information to us. WRITE “THE LAST DATE OF ATTENDANCE” NEXT TO THEIR
NAME ON YOUR CLASS LIST.
(3) Students who ARE
ATTENDING your class but ARE NOT SHOWING ON YOUR CLASS LIST have not been
properly registered for the class. This may cause serious problems for the
student regarding financial aid, etc. This will also cause problems for you
during the grading process. So, please provide this information to us. WRITE
THEIR NAME ON YOUR CLASS LIST.
We will research all the
information you provide and take the appropriate action(s).
Thank you in advance for
your cooperation in helping
Queens
stay in compliance with the Department of Education and keeping our records
accurate!
