CLASS LISTS should not be passed around in class in order to take attendance
and/or to obtain updated
student information such as email addresses. You can create your own class
roll by downloading the
CampusWeb class list into an excel document and deleting all the information but
the name.
Do not make LISTS OF STUDENTS enrolled in your class available to anyone for any
purpose (internal
or external to the university). Should you receive a request for this
information, have the requestor
contact the Office of the Registrar for that information.
Do not provide anyone (including parents) with a STUDENT'S SCHEDULE.
Should you receive a request
for this information, have the requestor contact the Office of the Registrar for
that information.
Do not leave EXAMS, PAPERS, etc. outside your door
or any venue that is open-access where
the social security number, identification number, grade, or grading marks are
visible. Simply
folding the document and writing the student name on it is also not acceptable.
If you choose to
leave these documents outside your door, you must place them in a sealed
envelope.
Do not POST GRADES using student names (in whole or part), student social
security numbers
(in whole or part), or identification number (in whole or part). You may
post using a randomly
generated identifier known and available only to you and the student.
Do not discuss or provide
GRADES to your students or anyone else (including parents) by
telephone or email. There is no way to positively verify the person's
identity.
