Street Car c. 1920

The Street Car was the main form of transportation between Queens and town for many years.  John Nolen, who designed Myers Park, wanted to neighborhood to have a "modern" transportation system so that no street was more than two blocks from the Street Car. Elizabeth Finley is pictured here wearing a hat. This denotes that she may be going to town. Students never left campus without a hat, gloves and  a chaperon in this era.
