The mirrors in the parlors were positioned so chaperons could see each room by glancing in the mirror. Notice the reflection of all three rooms.  Dean Albright would chaperon male visitors in the parlors in the 1940s. Men were not allowed to visit the back campus at this time. All social engagements were carried out in the parlors.
