Brake Ride, 1902

Members of the 1902 Senior Class of Presbyterian College for Women are seen here on their way to a picnic. The vehicle, called a brake (also spelled break) was rented from Wadworth's Livery Stable.  Beth McClintock Flowers is holding the reins. Sitting beside her is Onie Lee Rodman Brown. Beulah Wallace Grier was the mother of Joseph W. Grier, Jr., member of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Board.  The little boy is the son f Dr. James Bridges, President of the College.
