VPN InformationWhat is a VPN? This creates a secure tunnel between the points within the VPN. Only devices with the correct "key" will be able to work within the VPN. The VPN network can be residing within a normal company LAN (Local Area Network), and/or over public networks such as Internet. VPN also allow for different sites to be connected together over Internet in save and secure way. ... Should I use the VPN? The VPN is ideal for employees who are often offsite and need connection to files and folders within the Queens Network. How do I connect to the VPN? You must install the Cisco VPN Client on to your computer. The files are on the right. NOTE: There are specific setup items that cannot be published for security. Please contact IT Services for the necessary information. Do I need to use the VPN when I'm at Queens? No. When you connect your computer with an ethernet cable, you are already connected to the Queens network. You will receive error messages if you do run the VPN client software. |
