Website Support

Support for the Queens University of Charlotte website is handled by several offices. I.T. Services maintains several  campus web servers, internet connections and provides all required technical web support services for campus equipment. This includes things like web programming, interactive forms and security issues. Currently a full time I.T. Services web support staff member is not available and this work is performed as resources allow.  

Many academic and administrative areas on campus have someone assigned to handle web content for their area. Overall web content issues are handled by the office of University Relations. They maintain all components of the http://www.queens.edu/ site. A web admin tool is available to enter content into this website area. Contact the web contact manager, Dan Koster, for assistance.

Microsoft FrontPage 2003 is the standard web creation tool for the campus.queens.edu site. I.T. Services and Communications can provide help on the use of Front Page. Training material is available in the training area of the I.T. Services website. Users are also free to use whatever tools they wish. Keep in mind that only Front Page support is available. Front Page is available to any user that needs a copy via the Microsoft Campus License.

Web graphics and pictures can be created and edited with Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks studio or Microsoft Image Composer. The faculty/staff PC in I.T. Services is available with FrontPage 2003 and the graphics software mentioned above.  I.T. Services can also help take pictures and convert them to digital format for web display.

A streaming video server is available. We have some ability with our limited resources to allow you to display full motion video on the web. Please contact Glenn Loomer in I.T. Services to discuss your needs.
