Academic Computing

I.T. Services provides academic computing support for all faculty needing computing resources for classroom support.

I.T. Services provides support for the Dickson open use lab in Walker Science, DeWitt classroom lab in Dana 312 and the Jernigan 211 classroom lab. Faculty needing software made available in any of these labs should contact Bruce Heldman in I.T. Services.

Please note the following:

  1. Allow at least 2 weeks notice to provide adequate time to install any needed software. You should have a valid license for any software installed in the labs.
  2. If you are contemplating new network software for an open use lab - be sure to check with I.T. Services before you purchase the software and commit it for class use to ensure it is compatible with our network and equipment.

Faculty can request Website support and will be issued access to an area on the web where they can post information for classroom support. The Communications Office provides support for helping users create web pages (this position is currently vacant and will be filled soon).

A WebBoard is available for discussions and posting materials for students. Contact Glenn Loomer to request a new webboard.
