History Department

Welcome to the History Department

History majors at Queens University of Charlotte explore a multitude of human pasts. If your imagination is hearty enough, you can debate with Socrates in ancient Greece, march with Julius Caesar and his Roman legionnaires, watch actors perform at the Imperial Chinese court, visit ancient African Kingdoms, campaign for women's rights with the first suffragists, and meet Crazy Horse. Above all, you can begin to comprehend the many ways in which the present has been inescapably shaped by the past. You'll learn to research systematically and thoroughly, to write and speak persuasively, to think seriously and critically, and to distinguish fact from falsehood, all skills that can be put to use in a variety of fields.
