CONTEMPORARY EUROPE – October 12, 2005
MID-TERM
EXAMINATION
- The Mid-Term Examination will be on Wednesday, October
12, 2005. LIke ALL OUR WORK, THIS EXAM IS GOVERNED BY THE HONOR
CODE OF QUEENS UNIVERSITY OF CHARLOTTE.
- This is, of course, a REQUIRED EXAM. If you miss it,
you’ll receive a “zero.” You’re expected to take it as scheduled, except in
case of serious emergency.
- The exam will be in class at our normal time.
- This will be a TIMED-TEST. You’ll have the whole
class period to complete it, but you must end at 4:05, when the class period
ends.
- There will be no additional “review sheet” for the
exam, since there is a “review sheet” for each class! To prepare for the
exam, REVIEW EACH SHEET CAREFULLY. The exam will be based largely on these
sheets (there might be a question or two based on in-class work which might
not be referenced on the class review sheets); if you have mastered this
material (in other words, if you’ve diligently studied for each class!),
you’ll do fine on the exam.
- The purpose of the exam is to measure your master of
basic empirical information, the “vocabulary” of the course. The exam,
therefore, will be an “objective” test, much like our quizzes. About 70
points or so will come from multiple-choice, matching, fill-in-the-blanks
questions; about 30 points will come from 2 or 3 short answer questions
(much like the “questions” on the review sheets).
- As you prepare for the exam, please bring any
questions you might have to class, or contact Dr. Whalen.
