Vladimir Putin's Successor named With Some Difficulty

Vladimir Putin's reign as the Russian President officially ended today, as Dmitry Medvedev was elected to lead the country. During his inauguration speech, the new President asked Putin to not only be the Prime Minister, but also to marry him and have his babies. The appointment of Putin to such a high position has been recently criticized, as some claim that Putin is positioning himself to become the

new Emperor of Russia. Several prominent pundits have already compared him to Emperor Palpatine of Star Wars fame. George Lucas expressed outrage over such comparisons, noting that "Dimitry Medvedev is too much a Trekie to follow any sort of plot." The filmmaker also commented that the first three movies were a joke, and that no one could possibly base a government system off of such bad plots and special effects. Lastly, Lucas claimed that "Putin is much more evil than the Emperor ever was."
