Tsunami survivors pitch in for inaugural bash
BANDA ACEH, Indonesia -- Thousands
of tsunami survivors gathered in Banda Aceh last night to raise money for a
Bush Inaugural Relief Fund. Hearing that the $40 million
extravaganza was "in the red," local fisherman Najib Razak organized the
fund raiser. "We just wanted to get their attention and maybe a little
pay back for a donation," R
azak said. "I don't know if we
can work our way up to Centurian
status, but we'll try. It just depends on what 5 tons of contaminated
fish and a
bunch of conche shells can get us."
In a related story, supporters of the President along the parade route,
between 5th and PA Ave, were asked, out of respect for the tsunami victims,
not to do the wave as the President walked by. "We didn't mean no
disrespect," explained Weldon Littlefield of Hondo, TX. "We was just tryn' to keep warm."
